Sarangkot

Sarangkot is a hill just outside of Pokhara with glamorous daytime views of the Annapurnas. SGK and I took a hike up here one morning with some new Irish friends, Jonathon and Linda.

On top of the hill there is a small sign proclaiming "This Area has a special historical background. This place was used as a fort for defense (kot) and a playground of sword fighting during times of ancient rulers. The word Sarangkot is derived from Sarang (meaning sword in Magar) and Kot which means a top position used for defense and storing arms and ammunitions"

SGK and the loom lady that she bought a tablecloth from.
During the bargaining process; SaraGrace and I spoke to each other in Spanish. The price kept dropping the longer we dithered in a language unknown to the proprietor.

Upon leaving the shop, in reference to how well the tactic worked; Jonathon exclaimed to Linda: "We need to brush up on our Gaelic"
