The Melanesian Dancers of Moni

15 Jun-2000

Dance troop in Moni

Moni is the closest village to Keli Mutu. We spent the afternoon here watching the local dance troup. These people are a mixture of Malay and Melanesian - their language sounds Melanesian; they began by saying "Bula Keli Mutu" - Bula is a Melanesian word meaning greetings or welcome (like "Bula-Bula" in Fijian)
