Chitwan

Royal Chitwan National Park

Royal Chitwan National Park is in the Terai region of Nepal and used to be the private hunting grounds of the Nepalese royalty. Today it has the largest concentration of rhinos in Asia.

We went through the park on elephant back - and there were about 11 other elephants in our herd. Therefore picture taking was difficult, as our mahout kept jockeying for position and a good shot of the animals (who were justifiably feeling harassed and wouldn't stand still) was rarely if ever present for more than a 10th of a second.

Samba Deer : We actually saw 2 (but again - the picture taking was hampered by the mobs of elephants)- the other had 2 sets (that's 4) of antlers - at about 4 points each - does that make it a 16 point buck? (Nepal, The Travel Addicts)

Note the elephant's penis drapping in the water - this is to cool the animal : (It looks like the right leg on the leftmost elephant) (Nepal, The Travel Addicts)
